The Projects Team: Powering Progress
At Powin, the Projects Team manages every step of our energy storage deployment process. From engineering and logistics to commissioning and long-term servicing, this team ensures seamless, end-to-end project delivery. Whether it’s a 50MWh system or a 2GWh deployment, their commitment to excellence drives timely and cost-effective results.
Last year, the Powin Projects team’s success was evident in their ability to unify under a centralized leadership structure, combining the Project Success, Global, and Field Services teams into a single cohesive organization. This alignment streamlined processes, improved project delivery timelines, and enhanced long-term system performance.
Achievements That Defined 2024
- Global Installations: The team delivered and installed 72 enclosures, 694 collection segments, 713 inverters, and over 11,000 battery stacks (Stack230, Stack360, and Stack750/800), equating to an impressive 7.3 GWh of energy storage. Powin oversaw every stage of goods movement from manufacturing to final site delivery, ensuring seamless logistics coordination and on-time arrivals without delays or disruptions.
- Site Transitions: Powin successfully transitioned 27 new Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) sites—totaling 2.8 GWh—into operation across the U.S., Canada, Israel, and Australia. Each site met rigorous capacity test obligations, showcasing our commitment to quality and reliability.
- Energy Delivered: In 2024 alone, Powin supplied 650 GWh of energy to the grid, contributing to over 1 TWh of energy discharged since 2020. This effort has bolstered capacity and resilience worldwide, reaching regions like the U.S., Canada, Australia, Israel, Ukraine, Mexico, Taiwan, and the Bahamas.
Innovating for the Future: The Control Tower Approach
Last year, Powin also introduced the “Control Tower,” a cross-functional project management framework that enhances operational efficiency. By integrating end-to-end schedules and structured processes, the Control Tower enables precise tracking of engineering changes, seamless management of Bill of Materials releases, and rigorous monitoring of key project delivery milestones. These enhancements have resulted in a 41% increase in on-time project delivery and a remarkable 98% reduction in commissioning delays.
