Powin Powers Super Bowl 2024
Super Bowl 2024 made history beyond Usher’s halftime show. The Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas was powered solely by renewable energy, notably by our Arrow Canyon Solar and Storage project. Our BESS discharged 166 MWh of DC energy throughout that evening, equivalent to powering 34,297 homes for four hours.

BIG ANNOUNCEMENTS
Pulse Clean Energy and Powin to Bring Clean Energy to Scotland
In support of the UK’s clean energy objectives, Pulse Clean Energy and Powin unite to establish a 50 MW/110 MWh Battery Energy Storage System at Project Overhill in Scotland. This collaboration will enhance renewable integration and grid stability. Anticipated to launch by mid-2025, the project will feature Powin’s Stack750 energy storage system integrated with StackOS software.
Galp and Powin Partner to Bolster Portugal’s Renewable Availability
In an effort to accelerate the hybridization of its solar production, Galp has partnered with Powin on a 5MW/20MWh system. This will be installed at one of Galp’s solar power plants near Alcoutim, the southern region of Algarve, Portugal. The BESS will store solar energy during periods of high generation to be deployed at periods of high demand, maximizing the energy’s value.

In a world-first, Super Bowl LVII was powered entirely by renewable energy. This was thanks to the Arrow Canyon Solar and Battery Energy Storage System developed by EDF Renewables and Powin.
Longroad’s Largest Solar Project to Begin Commercial Operations in Mid-2025
Developed by Longroad Energy and powered by Powin’s modular and scalable battery energy storage system, the Sun Streams 4 project will bring clean energy to Arizona. The 377 MW solar facility with 1200 MWh BESS is expected to be commercially operational by mid-2025.
Powin Leverages Battery Cell-Level Data for High-Performing Grid-Scale Storage
Grid-scale energy storage is undergoing explosive growth as the race to accelerate the clean transition heats up. And Powin is one of the companies at the forefront of this shift to clean energy.
SK Group Companies Enter Energy Storage Joint Venture with US Developer Apex Clean Energy
Apex Clean Energy and SK Group have teamed up to co-own a US energy storage facility. Their initial project, the Great Kiskadee Storage, powered by Powin’s Stack750 platform and StackOS battery management system, is a 100 MW, 2-hour duration grid-scale BESS situated in Hidalgo, Texas, linked to Texas’ ERCOT grid.
Hithium and Powin Enter into Battery Supply Deal
As part of this agreement, battery manufacturer Hithium will supply 5GWh of 300Ah lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery cells to Powin projects worldwide over the next three years. These ultra-durable cells have a 12,000-cycle lifetime, making them reliable and exceptionally long-lasting.
New Mexico Regulator Approves PNM’s 12MW/48MWh of BESS for Overloaded Network Lines
A new partnership between Powin and utility PNW aims to bring clean energy to New Mexico in the form of two 6MW/24MWh BESS units. The energy storage systems will support existing solar projects in Bernalillo County and Valencia County, helping maintain a multi-directional grid that’s also safe, reliable, and resilient.
